Peter thought he understood and felt it was his
duty to set the Lord straight. Shocked over the
announcement, Peter took Him aside and said,
"Be it far from thee, Lord: this shall not be unto
thee."

Jesus knew that Peter was moved by love, but
He recognized the voice of Satan speaking to Him
through Peter and knew a rebuke was necessary
due to the temptation that was before Him.
