The Sadducees had been watching what had
happened. They didn't belong to the group
that had just left but kind of enjoyed their re-
action.

The Sadducees rejected the spoken traditions
of the Pharisees and much of the Old Testament.
They were much like the modernists of today
who pick out certain parts of the scriptures
that they liked and threw away the rest.

They didn't believe in miracles, angels or the
resurrection.
