The people were embarrassed because Jesus had
read their hearts. So they asked, "What are we
to do that we may work the works of God?"

Jesus told them that the work of God was to believe
on Him. whom God hath sent.

The basis of Christianity is salvation through faith
in Christ. The work of redemption is accomplished
by simple faith in Christ's finished work.
