The method Jesus introduced to preserve
peace and order in the Church is recorded
in Matthew 18:15-18:
"Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against
thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and
him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained
thy brother.
But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee
one or two more, that in the mouth of two or
three witnesses every word may be established.
And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell it unto
the church: but if he neglect to hear the church,
let him be unto thee as an heathen man and a
publican.
Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind
on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatso
ever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in
heaven."

didn't want men to think that there wasn't
discipline in the Church.

in the fold,
would go out

the wilderness for the lost one. After it was
safe and back into the fold He would rejoice
more over that sheep than all the others that
had stayed safely in the fold.
Instead of asking Mary herself, she turned to
Jesus, being impatience, wanting Him to do
something with her.
Martha wasn't expecting Jesus' response. Saying
her name twice, He said, "Martha, Martha, thou
art careful and troubled about many things. But
one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen the
good part, which shall not be taken from her"!
He wasn't going to take what Mary wanted away
from her, so it looks like Martha may have
returned to the kitchen wishing she hadn't said
anything.

When He was in their home He spent some of
His happiest times.
It was natural that when He came there was a
lot of activity in the home. Martha was always
an efficient hostess and would see to it that
nothing would be missing.

average condition and prominence. They were
well-known in Bethany and also in Jerusalem

ahead to prepare the way for Him to minister,
and then He would arrive in Jerusalem for the
Passover.

written in heaven.

power to cast out evil spirits and to heal the sick,
that their exuberance will lead to personal pride
which results in a grievous fall.
The higher a man rises the lower he must become

Their excitment of being able to have authority
over devils gave Jesus joy. He commended
them and showed them that Satan has been
defeated. "I beheld Satan as ightning fall from
heaven."
