The lawyer in the synagogue had asked the
same question. (Luke 10:25) The young man
may have heard talk going around and longed
in his heart to get an answer from Jesus.

Being high in the synagogue, he may have been
a Pharisee, but a nobler one than those who
belonged in that sect.

He had kept the commandments of the Law,
and alot like Saul of Tarsus, his thought he
was blameless. But being dissatisfied in his
heart, he wanted to hear from Jesus.
