Thomas was one of Jesus’ twelve apostles. He
doesn’t do much in the gospels but becomes
important towards the end of John.
Thomas lived in Galilee, along with most of the
other apostles and most of Jesus’ disciples, since
that is where his ministry was.
He was absent when the
Lord appeared to the
other apostles one
evening after He had risen,
and refused to believe that
Christ had indeed risen until
he had seen him for himself,
but when he had seen Him,
he said to Him, "My Lord and My God."
(John 20:19-29)
Not much is known about his life or death. It is
recorded that he died in 72 A.D. being killed by a
spear.
